The Natural Predators of Snake

It may be a bit surprising to know that a predator as ferocious as snake will also have to be wary on the attack of other Alabama predators. Animals such as coyotes, foxes, wild boars, raccoons, mongooses, and even large birds pose threat on the existence of the snake. In some cases, even other types of Mobile snake will devour them.

What Animals Eat Snakes?
The truth is- there are too many predators out there that love the taste of the snake’s meat. Their predators will depend upon the size and the location of their habitat. The young snakes have higher probability to be attacked. There are predators that will consume them when they were still eggs, and there are others that will eat them after their birth.

Birds
One of the major threats on the lives of the snakes would be the birds. Their speed enables them to sweep them out in a blink of an eye that will prevent the snake from retaliating. These birds have an excellent vision that allows them to watch the movement of the snake from afar. They have strong claws that can easily destroy the vital points of the snakes. They will attack the snakes that are dangling on the trees, in water and on land.

Wild Boars
The wild boars will attack the larger and adult snakes. They are known to exhibit an aggressive behavior and they will be ready to tackle this challenging task. Just like the wolf, the wild boars will be hunting in a group. With their strength, they can easily overpower the Mobile snakes. It is also believed that they have the ability to discern which snakes will carry venom and which will not. This is perhaps the reason why they will avoid eating certain species of snakes.

Coyotes, Fox, and Raccoon
If opportunity presents itself, the raccoons, coyotes, and fox will also enjoy the taste of the snake. Like the wild boar, they will also refrain from attacking those snake that carry venoms. They have the agility that can match the snakes and they also have the capacity to reach those that live in the tree.

King Snakes and Mongoose
The king snakes will devour the other snakes. Other snakes will only cannibalize the other snakes when there are a limited number of available foods. However, the King Snake’s diet would be primarily composed of snakes. In some occasion, mongoose will also occasionally add the snakes in their daily diet.

Perhaps the biggest predator of the snakes would be the humans. A huge number of snakes will die as a victim of a road kill. There are also times that humans don’t want them anywhere near their house thus killing them purposefully. There are places where it is believed that consuming snakes can bring good fortune. They have various recipes that will enable you to enjoy the taste of its meat such as the snake soup. The skin of the snakes such as the Philippine cobra can also be sold for a high value of money.
